Why Washington, DC?
Washington, DC has a population of approximately 572,000 in DC proper and 5.4 million for the entire metro area. With over 300 attractions and museums from Arlington National Cemetery and the African-American Civil War Memorial to the Smithsonian and the White House, DC offers a very culturally diverse environment in which to live and work. Over 180 Embassies can be found in the city, from The Embassy of Afghanistan to The Embassy of Zimbabwe. DC is the worldwide headquarters for dozens of international trade associations, including the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. DC is also home to world renowned universities like George Washington University and Georgetown.
Globalization Partners was founded in Washington, DC in 2001. The DC area has served as an excellent location for GPI's global headquarters with its easy access to hundreds of multi-national organizations and companies in the greater DC, Maryland and Northern Virginia areas. DC also supports a very rich pool of some of the best and brightest language and technology professionals in the world.
Why Columbus, Ohio?
Located in the center of Ohio, Columbus is the state capital and the heart of the mid-west. Clients in Cincinnati, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Detroit and Chicago can be easily supported from this central location. Columbus is home to more than 25 universities including The Ohio State University which is currently the largest university by enrollment in the US and ranked in the top 10 among the nation's research institutions by the National Science Foundation. OSU alone hosts more than 4,000 international students from more than 113 countries yearly. Columbus is home to established companies like Limited Brands, JPMorgan Chase & Co., Battelle, Big Lots Inc., and Nationwide Insurance. Furthermore, it is a center for innovative startups, research and has one of the nation's most vibrant technology sectors.
Why Missoula, Montana?
Missoula and the surrounding areas have a population just shy of 100,000. It is a university town with an abundance of outdoor activities from hiking and fishing to rafting and golfing. Montana is home to both Glacier National Park and Yellowstone. Missoula has consistently recieved top 10 rankings in several "The Best Cities..." studies. The Los Angeles based Milken Institute ranked Missoula as the #1 small metro area out of 118 studied in its Best Performing Cities Index in 2004. The index ranks U.S. metros based on their ability to create and sustain jobs, measurements of employment and salary growth and four measurements of technology output growth. Men's Journal April 2004 ranked Missoula # 6 in its annual "50 Best Places to Live", taking into account almost 50 variables, from stress levels to the amount of wilderness nearby.
Missoula has the only World Trade Center housed on a University's campus and two sister cities; Palmerston North and Neckargemund, Germany, and a sister state Kumamoto, Japan. GPI is one of many technology companies that now have a presence in the State leveraging the availability of both high quality lifestyles and an innovative business climate.
The National Endowment for the Arts ranked Missoula, Montana in the top 10 cities nationwide for Professional Artists (local workers who make their living through the arts), behind Santa Fe, N.M., San Francisco, Boulder, Colo., New York, Bloomington, Ind., College Station, Penn., Los Angeles, and Stamford-Norwalk, Conn. Missoula ranks 44th in the nation in terms of the percentage of local workers who make their living through the arts, ahead of such notable entertainment havens as Las Vegas and Miami. GPI leverages this pool for professional copy writing, graphics arts and voice talent.
Why Rio de Janeiro, Brazil?
With a population of 5.9 million, Rio de Janeiro has approximately 200,000 companies operating on its shores including many in the banking, hospitality, telecommunications, and media sectors. More than 50% of these businesses are service related, and are responsible for about 10% of Brazil's GNP. Rio is home to the Riocenter, the largest Trade Fair, Conference and Expo-Center in Latin America.
Rio de Janeiro is of course best known for carnaval, its beaches and its scenic beauty. Rio is also known for its rich and diverse population of young professionals in the IT, translation, localization and creative arts fields. Two of the top Universities for IT and Design are located in Rio; PUC-RIO - Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro and UFRJ-Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro. Brazilian Portuguese is one of GPI's core language competencies.
Why Rosario, Argentina?
Rosario is the second largest metropolitan area in Argentina, with a population of approximately 1,500,000. It is located 300 km north of Buenos Aires (Argentina's capital city) on the Paraná River. Rosario serves as the import and export center for the central and northern provinces. The city is modern, with boulevards, parks, and attractive suburbs. It is the seat of the "Universidad Nacional de Rosario" (founded 1968) and the football teams "Rosario Central" (founded 1889) and "Newell's Old Boys" (founded 1903).
Rosario's prominence as a center for Spanish Language Localization Services has increased dramatically since the early 1990's. It is no surprise that Rosario has some of the best Spanish translation professionals in the world as three of its Universities offer programs in translation. Instituto de Enseñaza Superior "Olga Cosettini" (IES), Instituto Superior Pago de los Arroyos (ISPA) and Colegio Inglés "San Bartolomé" offer degree programs in Technical, Legal, Literary and Scientific Translations. Rosario was honored in 2004 by being chosen as the venue for the "The International Congress of the Spanish Language" by the RAE (Real Academia Española) and the Cervantes Institute (Instituto Cervantes). Spanish is one of GPI's core language competencies.
Why Dubai, United Arab Emirates?
Dubai is situated on the Persian Gulf coast of the United Arab Emirates. Dubai has a population of over 1.5 million and is becoming one of the world's top tourist destinations. Its port Jebel Ali has the largest man-made harbor in the world. Dubai is also developing into a premier hub for service industries such as IT and finance. The government has set up industry-specific free zones throughout the city including Dubai Internet City, Dubai Media City and Dubai Knowledge City to attract international businesses. IT firms such as EMC, Oracle and Microsoft as well as media organizations such as CNN and Reuters all have regional headquarters in Dubai. Dubai is a leading regional trading hub offering access to a large and diversified market. Dubai is served by more than 170 shipping lines and 86 airlines.

Why Cairo, Egypt?
Cairo (al-Qahira), is the capital city of Egypt, and is the largest city in Africa, and the Arab World. It is the largest metropolitan area in Egypt, and is one of the most populous in the world. Cairo has long been the center of the region's cultural and artistic life. Cairo's urban area has a population of about 17.0 million people. Cairo is the sixteenth most populous metropolitan area in the world. It is also the most populous metropolitan area in Africa.
Cairo has a mix of historical and modern cultural sights. This includes the Pyramids, the Hanging Church, Saladin's Citadel, the Virgin Mary's Tree, the Sphinx, and Heliopolis, Al-Azhar, the Mosque of Amr ibn al-A'as, Saqqara, the Cairo Tower, and the Old City. Cairo is nicknamed "The City of A Thousand Minarets".
Why Denver, Colorado?
Why not! Denver is the state capital of Colorado and one of the largest cities between Chicago and California. The Mountain time zone is ideal to support clients across North America and still have access to Europe and Asia during their business days. Denver's airport is a hub for major airlines offering domestic and international flights. It is the 4th busiest airport in the United States and 10th busiest in the world.
Denver is the gateway to the Rocky Mountains which provide many year round outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, rafting, biking, bouldering, fishing, skiing, snowboarding, among many others. The weather offers over 300 days of sunshine a year with moderate temperatures due to low humidity. The area boasts many leading high technology companies with operations in the area, such as Google, HP and Intel. Many 'Green' power technology companies are establishing Colorado as a key base of operations for wind and solar power generation. The city has a growing, well educated population with strong universities and a diversified economy.
Why San Jose, California?
Well known as Silicon Valley, the San José area is the largest and most influential high-tech center in the world. This area has served as the site of technical innovations for over four decades. The nice weather, the diversity of ethnic traditions, and the unique investment atmosphere continues to attract a large number of brightest, most creative talents from all over the world. Thousands of high technology companies are headquartered in Silicon Valley.
Why Portland, Oregon?
Portland, Oregon is not only a high tech center (the "Silicon Forest") but the most affordable major metropolitan area on the west coast of the USA. Portland has a large talent pool of DTP publishers, graphic designers, web developers and other talent associated with rich content development. Nearby Beaverton is home to NIKE USA headquarters and adjacent Hillsboro is the center for INTEL Research and Development. Tektronix and Mentor Graphics are just a few of the high tech companies that start in the Portland area. Oregon is rapidly becoming one of the leaders in "green" technologies, including wind power and alternate forms of transportation. Portland's extensive public transportation (including the MAX light rail train) has become an award-winning model imitated by many other metropolitan areas.
With non-stop flights to Asia, Frankfurt and many major centers of commerce in the USA, Portland is an ideal location for managing Document Globalization.
